Kevin
Lockman
Intern
From Chino Hills, Kevin is currently a fourth
year Animal Science student at Cal Poly. Upon graduation, Kevin plans
to attend veterinary school and eventually hopes to open his own exotic
animal veterinary hospital. Kevin’s interest in animals began at
a young age as he grew up watching Steve Irwin and Jeff Corwin, and naturally
Kevin developed a strong passion for exotic animals. This passion led
to his desire to become an exotic veterinarian. In his free time Kevin
also enjoys hiking, and playing soccer and ultimate frisbee. |

Cyndi Davis
Education Intern
Originally from San Leandro, Ca,
Cyndi is a senior in Animal Science at California Polytechnic State University,
San Luis Obispo. As our current Education Intern, Cyndi is able to attend
and assist with ZTY shows and tours whenever possible. Cyndi participates
in the daily care and maintenance of animals within the zoo and is often
able to observe and assist with the ongoing training of our conservation
ambassadors. In addition to working with the animals at the zoo, Cyndi
acts as a volunteer puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind, teaching
basic obedience and socialization to future guide dogs. Upon graduation
Cyndi intends to find a career which can bring her enjoyment of spending
time with children and animals together into a rewarding career |

Sonja Dobbs
Sonja's love of exotic animals was fostered
at an early age through annual Zoo to You presentations at her local
elementary school. She has since studied animal welfare and veterinary
medicine at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and is currently
pursuing a degree in zoology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After
graduation, Sonja hopes to work on public education and conservation
efforts within the zoo world. Sonja's greatest ambition in life is to
one day have the opportunity to work with big cats and raise a lion cub.

medicine, please visit http://blogs.landfood.ubc.ca/tigerpoachingtcm/. |

Pam McLean
Pam McLean has been volunteering with ZTY since
July 2011. She loves helping out wherever she can, and hopes to go through
the internship program soon. She has always had a love for animals. During
HS, to complete a science requirement, she worked at Hogle Zoo in S.L.C.
Utah. She has 3 children: 2 boys, 26 and 19 and a daughter, 16, still
at home. Pam is also an EMT and works full time for San Luis Ambulance. “Who
knew that some days being a fecal engineer at the zoo could be so much
fun.” |
